FLC Gameweek 7 – Pick, Risk, Avoid

Another midweek round of fixtures to look forward to in the Championship. As Cardiff and Leeds look set to start setting the pace in the FLC, we get an extra chance to score some points and put ourselves back where we deserve to be in the table. Our PRA is here!

Pick

Pierre Michel Lasogga – After Lasogga’s debut, there is no way you can’t put him in your team. One game in and he’s already scored 19 points. Last weekend against Burton, the German scored two goals and bagged two assists. Not a bad way to start.

Nathan Mendez Laing – One of the top point scorers in the Championship and sitting pretty at the top of the League with Cardiff City, Mendez-Laing is someone you want in your fantasy team. The Welsh club face Preston away tonight, but after dropping their first points of the season last week, they will be expecting a win.

Pontuss Janson – Another of this season’s high scorers, Janson is part of a Leeds team that has kept five clean sheets in 6 games. Not bad going at all. Tonight’s fixture sees them host a Birmingham City side that are only a place outside of the relegation zone. Once again, Leeds will be confident in getting three points with a watertight defence.

Risk

Barry Douglas – The Wolves defender hasn’t looked as menacing as he did in the first fee games of the season, but he has consistently been adding to his points tally. Wolves host a Bristol City side that have looked mediocre this year. This one could go either way, but don’t expect many goals – and keep your fingers crossed for another Douglas assist.

Billy Sharp – If there is one thing that is certain in this world it is that tomorrow the sun will rise, if there’s another, it’s that Billy Sharp will score goals. The Sheffield United frontman looks to be in great form this season with four goals already. The Blades face a Bolton side propping up the rest of the league tonight, so Sharp will be as hopeful as ever that he can add to his tally.

Ryan Sessegnon – Fulham’s fortunes seem to be turning, and with that, there young starlet, Sessegnon, seems to be hitting form. Playing in a slightly more advanced position on the left side, Sessegnon got his first goal of the campaign last weekend which will give him confidence going into Fulham’s home tie against Hull. But beware the Tigers, they are a threat too.

Avoid

Kyle McFadzean – Burton Albion shipped five goals last weekend, and they have hadn’t been turning in performances that inspired before that. With a trip away to Norwich to look forward to it might be best for the East Midlands club to focus on keeping the score. McFadzean is one of many who could have filled this spot.

Steve Morison – Millwall’s striker, Morison, hasn’t a goal to his name this season, he has only one assist and on top of that, he’s been booked. At £10m he’s not exactly a bargain. They’ll face tougher opponents than the QPR side they’re playing tonight, but until Morison starts to provide a better ROI, he’ll be at arm’s length.

Ipswich, Derby, Barnsley, and Reading players – Their fixtures have been moved meaning they’ll be involved in a double gameweek in the future!
